The KYMCO F9 based scooter by FELO China officially launched. The FW06 scooter will run up to 87 miles range.
FELO officially launch their FW06 scooter, with some changes from the F9 by KYMCO on which it’s based. The main one being a bigger battery capacity, which increases the range compare to the F9.
FELO Design is the R&D branch of Hiyeetong – a China based performance vehicles company – That later became FELO Technology, focusing on performance motorcycles. Since 2019, FELO Technology entered the electric high-performance motorcycle field to launch its own brand – FELO EV. Securing their investment from Kymco’s Treasury capital, the two companies then launched their electric products, KYMCO’s F9 in Taipei and FELO’s FW-06 in Shanghai.
Recently, Kymco, FELO and Super Soco signed a strategic alliance with the purpose of accelerating the expansion to global markets with electric motorcycles, and building the Ionex network for swappable battery systems.
With the recent announcement by the companies, it appears that they will share a strategic path together for pretty much every aspect. Technology will be shared, product development, the ionex network, brand collaboration, OEM and much more.
The full specifications for the two maxi-scooters are quite the same, with Disc brakes (ABS front), same frames and seating position, of course the unique 2 gear Brushless DC Motor. The motor peaks at 10kW, and generates 30Nm of torque – exactly like the F9, with nominal 6kW or 16Nm.
The difference for the FW06 is the battery options it offers – The sub models for the FW06 are called – GL and DX, a selection between 7.68kWh to 8.5kWh respectively (96V 80Ah/ 88Ah).
This difference also impacts the range, where the FW06 DX gets a range of 87miles (140km), the GL type would run up to 68 miles (110km) and charging times vary from 4 to 6 hours.
The FELO FW06 will be sold in China for a grand total of ¥ 26,800 – 28,800 RMB, approximately $4200-4500 USD. It has already started pre-orders on the company’s website – for Chinese local.
