FELO’s Sporty Electric Scooter, FW-06, Ready to Hit the Streets in France

FELO FW-06 Electric Scooter Arrives in France: A Sporty and Powerful Option for Commuters

As the world moves towards electric vehicles, more manufacturers are joining the bandwagon, especially from China. FELO, a Chinese electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has launched its new electric scooter, FW-06, in Europe, with France being the first country to receive it. Although the scooter has been showcased since 2019, it is now officially in production, offering riders an alternative to their regular commuter scooters.

FELO Design is the research and development division of Hiyeetong, a China-based manufacturer of performance vehicles. The company later transitioned into FELO Technology, which specializes in high-performance motorcycles. In 2019, FELO Technology launched its own electric high-performance motorcycle brand, FELO EV. With the support of Kymco’s Treasury capital, both companies released their electric products – KYMCO’s F9 in Taipei and FELO’s FW-06 in Shanghai.

Recently, Kymco, FELO, and Super Soco announced a strategic alliance to accelerate the global expansion of their electric motorcycle business and establish the Ionex network for swappable battery systems.

The FELO FW-06 boasts a sporty and aggressive design, with styling inspired by high-displacement naked streetfighters. The scooter’s compact proportions and step-through frame design retain its scooter identity, while the powerful motor on the swingarm generates a continuous output of 5 kilowatts, peaking at 10 kilowatts (13.6 horsepower). The electric motor provides instantaneous torque, making the scooter a punchy machine.

FELO claims that the FW-06 is capable of hitting a top speed of 70 miles per hour and can accelerate from zero to 30 miles per hour in just 1.7 seconds, thanks to its 58 newton meters of torque. The scooter features two driving modes, Normal and Sport, with the latter unlocking the top speed of 70 miles per hour.

The FELO FW-06 relies on a 96-volt battery pack with a capacity of 5.57 kilowatt-hours, offering a maximum range of 140 kilometers (88 miles) on a single charge. However, it takes about 7.5 hours to fully charge the battery, which could be a downside for some.

FELO has priced the FW-06 at around 7,300 Euros (about $7,830 USD) in France, with deliveries expected to start in May 2023. Although it may seem pricey for a scooter confined to urban areas, the FW-06’s sporty design, powerful motor, and decent range make it a viable option for performance-oriented riders.

With its launch in France, FELO is expected to expand its electric scooter range further into the European market. It will be interesting to see how the FW-06 fares against other electric scooters in Europe and how it performs in real-world conditions.
