Electric motorcycles from Sur-Ron captured our eye from the get go. They stand out for designing an electric motorcycle that really looks right for it’s purpose, being a trail bike. They maintained great quality with suspensions and break on the Sur-Ron LB-X, and feature a street legal version as well. Sur Ron manufactures in China, and has offices spread across UK, US, and has several more distributes across EU.

Sur-Ron’s LBX Dual Sport Electric trail bike Series comes with a 6kW of peak power and a top speed of over 45Mph (73kmh). It’s a lightweight forged aluminum frame with a removable Lithium-ion battery pack outputting 60V 32A to their mid-mounted, air cooled motor. Models are available for both onroad or offroad use, with the required specifications tweaked to suits each environment.

The Sur-Ron LBX is weighing-in at only 154lb (70kg), with an onboard sine-wave controller and regenerative-braking, hydraulic brakes use 4 piston that really works well within the power at pretty much all speeds. The output torque, coming just under 40Nm, is a great match to this bikes size and weight.

This paired with fast charging of 2.5-3.5 hours (per battery pack), gives you a range of 60 mile, or just about 90 km, which is a great offroad trail, or a decent highway road to cover if that’s what you are looking to get.

The Street Legal Onroad model comes with a complete neccessary suit for the road, including mirrors, indicators and numberplate. It’s Offroad model are really stripped down to include only the essentials, letting it really soar through trails and dirt roads.
