The NAWA Racer is the first electric motorcycle to use ‘ultracapacitor’ technology to improve performance. And it’s a hub-less wheel too.
This racer combines many parts of futuristic motorcycles, from hub-less wheel design, a carbon fiber frame and composite body panels all the way to ground breaking technology integrations. The NAWA Racer uses carbon-based super-capacitor technology, to increase battery life through regenerative breaking. Now this may not sound new, as regenerative breaking really isn’t new, but using their ‘ultracapacitors’ (known as NAWACap) they essentially allows the charge capacity to increase, restoring energy better than any other system. The NAWA Racer has improved range, particularly in city rides,
NAWA Technologies is a France based company specializing in energy storage solutions, carbon based to be more exact. They utilize the technology of carbon-based super-capacitors, which for its chemical properties allows an improved accessible surface area and charge accumulation with a stable conductive interface. To put in simpler words, the battery is a hybrid Lithium ION with NAWACap allowing it much batter charge speed and capacity – that can be put to use with the regenerative breaking to increase the motorcycle’s range. In addition, it allows improved battery outputs and life-cycles. The Racer enjoys these benefits and translates them to performance on the asphalt.
Our vision is to develop technologies that enable highly efficient energy transition, And the key to this is our Ultra Fast Carbon Battery Technology.
NAWA Technologies

The NAWA Racer is impressive in design, highly futuristic frame and hub-less rim motor that can produce ~100hp, pushing the NAWA Racer from 0-60 (0-100kmh) in under 3 seconds, and pushes onto a top speed of 160kmh. And with the properties of their ultracapacitors they claim to be able to keep continuous performance and maintain response.
The NAWA Racer has some impressive and notable specs, like the fact that in city settings that range can go up to 186 (300 km), and in mixed riding that includes highways it will still reach 93 miles (150km). All that with a 9kWh battery. It can also charge back up to 80% in just an hour, with a standard, yes -standard home plug.
The NAWA Racer will feature Race and Eco driving modes, with more efficient energy recovery or allowing the rider to enjoy Race mode for more speed riding. NAWA took an extreme twist for what they call a ‘retro looks’ with composite panels, aluminum on light carbon fiber frame. Whether this is a cafe-racer, a speedbike, or a bit of both – it has a great style and look.
