Foxconn and Gogoro will begin collaborating on smart batteries, vehicle engineering and manufacturing projects.
Foxconn, the largest electronics manufacturer worldwide, and Gogoro, the largest battery swapping network in the world, announced they will form a strategic technology and manufacturing partnership. The companies will work together on several projects to support Gogoro’s expansion. Utilizing Foxconn’s manufacturing capabilities to scale Gogoro’s battery swapping technologies and Smart scooters.
The announcement follows Gogoro’s recent market announcements in India and China and growing interest for its battery swapping ecosystem around the world. In these recent announcements, Hero MotoCorp India will establish a battery swapping joint venture to bring Gogoro’s battery swapping platform to India as well as partnerships with Dachangjiang Group (DCJ) and Yadea, China’s leading 2-wheel vehicle manufacturers.

Foxconn and Gogoro formed an early agreement in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The companies will begin working together on multiple projects from smart batteries to vehicle engineering and manufacturing.
By integrating Foxconn’s strong manufacturing, global capabilities and top quality, Gogoro will zero in on its own product design, technology improvement, branding, expanded distribution and customer service channels.

Founded in 2011, Gogoro is the largest battery swapping network in the world. Gogoro’s Network manages over 200,000 battery swaps a day at 2,087 GoStations across Taiwan. With more than 174 million total battery swaps to date, and recognition by the Frost & Sullivan Award with Company of the Year Award for the Global Swappable Battery Electric Scooter Market.
Foxconn’s Key vision for the future is its 3+3 strategic initiative. This puts focus on three emerging industries and three major core technologies – investments in electric vehicles, digital health, and robotics industries as well artificial intelligence, semiconductors and next-generation communication technologies, to form its key “3+3” (industry and technology) strategy.
With this announcement, Foxconn is moving to expend from the four wheel space, to include Gogoro’s two-wheel Smartscooter vehicles and battery swapping technologies. In the electric 4-wheel space, Foxconn is promoting the MIH Alliance by teaming up over 1,600 software and hardware partners. Foxconn also uses the global layout in ICT (Information and Communication Technology) to incorporate the advantage of manufacturing ability and agility to become a major partner for international automobile brands.
