Damon Motors announced it was awarded the 2021 GOOD DESIGN Award in the Transportation category for its flagship Hypersport motorcycle
Damon Motors announced it has won a 2021 GOOD DESIGN Award, which honors the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product, and graphic designs produced around the world. The company was awarded in the Transportation category for its flagship Hypersport motorcycle. The HyperSport was selected from thousands of entries from over 55 countries.
We have discussed before how every Damon motorcycle is built on the monocoque constructed powertrain, and each bike features the CoPilot™ advanced warning system, and Shift™, which transforms the riding position between sport and commuter modes while in motion.
The HyperSport will soon be showcased alongside the upcoming HyperFighter, Damon’s newest motorcycle, at CES 2022, January 5-8, 2022, in Las Vegas.
GOOD DESIGN AWARDS: Founded in Chicago in 1950, GOOD DESIGN is one of the oldest and most prestigious Awards Programs organized worldwide.
“For us, design has more to do with next level functionality than anything else,”
“Making it beautiful also matters because discovering new products that make life better always starts with falling in love. But beyond that, the design itself also maximizes the motorcycle’s power, range and handling for unparalleled performance.”Jay Giraud, founder & CEO, Damon Motors.
At the core of every Damon Motorcycle is the company’s proprietary HyperDrive™, the monocoque-constructed, all electric, multi-variant powertrain. HyperDrive is engineered to utilize the monocoque as a structural component of the motorcycle itself. We’ve discussed here before how this is one of the best designs, that reduces the need for much of the frame and brings an incredible weight reduction.
HyperDrive serves as the nucleus upon which a wide range of future Damon models and submodels can be built upon.
GOOD DESIGN honors “the best industrial and graphic designers and world manufacturers for their pursuit of extraordinary design excellence.” For more than seven decades, the Chicago Athenaeum continues the organization of the program to “create a revived awareness about contemporary design and to honor both products and industry leaders in design and manufacturing that have chartered new directions and pushed the envelope for competitive products in the world marketplace.”
