The Solar Impulse Foundation Label gives its recognition to the French made Newron EV-1 electric cruiser.
Newron Motors was founded in 2016, by Sébastien Mahut and Michel Serafin. They established Newron in Herblay, France, with the ambition to design a new motorcycle that is ‘electric, connected and intelligent’. In 2018, built the first prototype to test the Newron EV-1 powertrain. They were fully ready to take over high-end consumers with a unique and outstanding design with powerful specs.
Over time, they worked on the definition, requirements, values, global design, and technical components. The team worked tirelessly to develop all the electric architecture including batteries, inverter, HMI, software, charge interface which lead to a fully working prototype converting customized Honda CBR1000RR to electric.

The Solar Impulse foundation label, was established by Bertrand Piccard, a visionary for a future of sustainable energy. He set out for the foundation to identify efficient solutions for a cleaner future. Bertrand is a great advocate for solving the climate change challenge, and actively promotes the benefits of efficient technologies and industries.
Protection of the environment would become a reality only if it was perceived as economically viable and requiring no financial or behavioral sacrifices. Today, efficient solutions exist that can boost economic growth, while at the same time reducing our impact on the planet.

Some of the key features recognized by the foundation in the label award:
- Zero emissions
- Uses 50% recycled and local materials, 80% of the motorcycle can be recycled
- 85% lower CO2 emissions over product lifetime compared to mainstream alternative
- 0.7 € of electricity to travel 100km
The EV-1 uses a PMAC motor, 75kW, with torque output of 240Nm. With a top speed of 137 mph (220 km/h), and 3 seconds from 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) the EV-1 gets to great speed even at a weight of 485 lbs. (220 kg). With Beringer dual disc brakes 320 mm and 4 pot radial calipers, a great wheel base of 1600 mm and seat height of 680 mm, this bike is a great electric cruiser. With a 350 V high power density battery pack, that gets a range of up to 185 miles (300km). Charging time will take only 40 minutes on a fast charge, on a fast charge.
