KYMCO LIKE EV, The Electric Rival Of the Popular LIKE 125cc

KYMCO LIKE EV

KYMCO LIKE EV is another milestone for KYMCO as they proceed to innovate, invent, and bring more models to electrification. After revealing last year their F9 maxi scooter, KYMCO continues to push towards green energy, with another light model to rival its ICE predecessor.

The Taiwanese 2-wheel giant has just recently announced a strategic partnership with Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire, which went independent via a merger SPAC on the NYSE. But this only follows as a solidification of the company’s role in the electric space, as they have partnerships already with Super-Soco and FELO.

KYMCO plays a very important role in the movement technology of the future caused by the promotion of global green energy policies. The New Like EV, which was released last year at the Cologne INTERMOT and Paris Motor Show, will be a revolutionary model. This highly anticipated vehicle checks all the boxes of today’s riders, and will meet all expectations at EICMA 2019.

The LIKE EV will be powered by a brushless DC motor, peak power 3.2kW – 4.3 HP, that produces 124Nm of torque at the rear wheel. That’s similar power to take on it’s 125cc ICE equivalent.

The capacity of each removeable battery is 50V/13Ah, about 0.65kWh each or 1.3kWh for the duo, with each battery weighing only 6kg. This allows it to run a range of nearly 125miles (199km), using the Ionex battery technology that has quick charging of just one hour.

This is a light e-scooter, standing at a curb weight of 110 kg, reduced thanks to aluminum alloy wheel rims, and the light weight of both batteries. It utilizes a telescopic front suspension, and unit swing rear suspension (single spring). Disc brakes front and drum brakes rear.

The design has proven to be a simple and popular style for riders, as the LIKE already has its track record of sales as an ICE model. This new model will be a great indicator for the real preference of riders, as they will have the ability to select either the EV or a 125cc LIKE model.

Be sure to drop back in, as we will keep tracking earning reports by KYMCO, and update on sales numbers as they come out.
