India’s Hop Electric announced it will soon launch its first electric motorcycle OXO.

Electric scooter maker Hop Electric plans to launch a high-speed electric motorcycle called OXO soon, along with another upcoming model, a high-speed electric scooter. The upcoming models will be able to cover 93 miles (150 km) and 120 km on a single charge, respectively.

So far, the company has offered the LEO and LYF electric scooters, both of which come with removable batteries, as well as recharging services via battery swaps. Now Hop are introducing a full motorcycle with sportive style and design.

The India-based EV company has reportedly been developing an upgrade of its existing LYF electric scooter that may offer customers a range of 77 miles (125 km).

Confirming the strong demand for electric vehicles, and the leaning towards younger audiences that are looking for more premium and high-end options, Ketan Mehta, co-founder and CEO of Hop Electric, wants to provide an expended line of products to meet the markets demand.

With the goal of making EVs that are affordable and easy to handle, suitable for a wide range of riders, of all ages actually, and despite of the younger demography of interest in electric mobility, the company wants to bring more advanced technologies to its current electric scooter models, while extending their model lineup.

Although Hop did not fully share the expected OXO specifications, here’s what we could find so far. On a stylish sportive design, the OXO will use a hub motor, expected to reach a top speed of 100 km/h. The unknown battery size, is planned to support a range of 93 miles (150 km).

It’s evident from the teaser images that it will use a dual spring shock suspension on the rear, and both wheels will likely have disc brakes.

“All Hop electric two-wheelers are specially designed to provide maximum comfort to all riders regardless of age or gender,”

“We strive to improve and evolve further down the line and offer our consumers bonafide electric vehicles that are cost-effective, easy-to-maneuver and ecologically sound,” he added.
