Hero Electric India presents a new electric scooter designed for large city commuting.
Hero Electric continues to expend their line of electric scooters, with their latest addition, Eddy. The electric city scooter is designed for large city commuting in low speeds, with a decent range for city commutes. This strengthens the company’s line from their one existing Photon electric scooter model, to a more comprehensive line of offering.
India is no exception to the growing demand for electric vehicles, quite the contrary. India is in fact one of the countries that pushes more than others on electrification. In recent years, the Department of Heavy Industries introduced the FAME-II regulation, to offer 50% more incentives on two-wheeler EVs. As a result , the zero-emission scooter market is growing rapidly, with tailwinds in the form of government subsidies. Consequently, producers are continuously increasing their line of offering.
Eddy, an electric scooter made for the city:
The Eddy scooter will only run a top speed of just 25 km/h, but will carry a range of 85 km on a single charge. It utilizes a Hub motor, with 2.5kW power output and it only weighs 60kg. The battery pack outputs 51.2 V, 30Ah totaling about 1.536kWh, and charging time for it will take 4 to 5 for a full charge.
Hero Eddy also comes with a heap of features like Find My Bike, E-Lock, Follow Me Headlamps, and Reverse Mode for a smoother, cleaner, and greener ride. The scooter will come in two colors – Yellow and Light Blue and would not require any license or registration locally.
