Damon Motors Forms Alliance with Indonesia’s Leading Energy Firm to Meet Country’s Net-Zero Emissions Goal

Damon Motors and Indika Energy Form Strategic Partnership to Revolutionize Indonesian Motorcycle Industry

Vancouver-based Damon Motors has announced a new partnership with PT Indika Energy Tbk., Indonesia’s leading energy company, as the electric motorbike company approaches $100 million in orders and expands its reach to the Indonesian market.

Founded in 2017 by Jay Giraud and Dom Kwong, Damon Motors was inspired by Giraud’s trip to Jakarta, Indonesia, which holds the largest two-wheeled vehicle penetration in the world. The company aims to reduce motorcycle accidents and provide cleaner, safer, and more efficient alternatives to traditional gas-driven motorcycles.

As part of the new partnership, Indika Energy will serve as the distributor for Damon’s line of motorcycles in Indonesia and has made an undisclosed investment in the company. Indika Energy shares Damon’s vision of a future where two-wheeled transportation is electrified, and the two companies are committed to working together to achieve Indonesia’s goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2060.

The new partnership will allow Damon Motors to develop a new global motorcycle platform specifically for the needs of commuters in areas dominated by two-wheeled mobility. The platform will incorporate key technology from Damon’s current offerings, making the motorcycles cleaner, safer, and more efficient than any existing options.

With a $100 million milestone in orders on the horizon, Damon Motors has received numerous awards and accolades for its innovative electric motorcycles, including the CES 2020 and 2022 Innovation Award, the Edison Best New Product Award, and Fast Company’s World Changing Idea award. The company’s state-of-the-art electric motorcycles offer unparalleled safety, comfort, 5G connectivity, and performance with groundbreaking technology and zero tailpipe emissions.
