MV Agusta AMO RR and RC – The Very First MV Agusta Electric Urban Bicycle.

MV Agusta announce their first electric bicycle, the AMO RR and AMO RC models, a first step into electric mobility.

MV Agusta makes a first step into electric mobility, with their first electric bicycle, the AMO RR and AMO RC models. In what has become the “entry” model of choice for traditional manufacturers – the company marks an important milestone of stepping into electric mobility with a lightweight vehicle rather than a full size motorcycle.

In early May, the first announcement by MV Agusta for an electric segment coming soon and within a couple of months they introduce a first step in. In what appears to be a trend in stepping into electric mobility, traditional manufacturers choose to start with e-bikes, rather than full sized motorcycles. We just heard similar electric news from Italian TM Racing that specialize in offroad, and with this announcement by MV Agusta, it’s clear that more brands wish to expand their offering to electric mobility and take a piece of the sector.

The two urban commuter models are both on the company’s website, open for orders now. With a starting price of €3075 for the AMO RR model, MV Agusta maintains its high-end reputation for creating brand identification and giving their audience style and design that fits the Agusta spirit. This E-bike is no different, and the price put it in the upper brackets for other options, only with meticulous Italian design.

The model was name “AMO” either RR or RC. These e-bike by MV-Agusta are assisted rigid frame bike, with a speed limit of 20 mph (25 km/h). Every detail was thought of carefully, from brakes through tires and saddle.

MV Agusta has a 5 year business plan to grow worldwide, and a recent capital share increase at the sum of €30M, was finalized to bring the company to an equity of total €70M. This will be support to the company’s expansion targets to global markets, and particularly the brand’s expansion into new segments, such as adventure, electric recreational and urban mobility

The sole shareholder of the company since 2019, the Sardarov family, have already invested more than 150M€ in funds that were injected into the business to support operations and the investments of the new plan. This was a full rescue and recovery plan for the company, that allowed the operation to continue, and the legacy of the great brand to push forwards. After the successful rescue mission, Timur Sardarov, CEO of MV Agusta Motor, plans to continue and focus on the brand’s prestigious heritage and bring it back to its glory.

One of my first objectives was to put an end to the financial stress the Company had been experiencing and lay the industrial and commercial structures for growth.

Today all these objectives have been reached in full and now we can look at the future with renewed confidence while we continue to move from one successful product to another.

Timur Sardarov, CEO of MV Agusta Motor S.p.A.

AMO RR – € 3075

Inconspicuous yet totally stylish Italian design, and a manic attention to details: the perfect match for the urban professional wanting to move around the city swiftly and with complete peace of mind.

AMO RC – € 4100

Inspired by MV Agusta’s legendary Reparto Corse, AMO RC is rich in premium features such as the carbon wheels, Pirelli Cycl-e GT tyres, the rubber Brooks Cambium grip and the Fizik Adaptive R1 saddle.

“The choice of liveries reflects MV Agusta’s tradition, with yellow or red and black. The paint and decals are the same high-grade, premium products used by MV Agusta for its legendary motorcycles.”

With a single-button interface, the design is minimalistic and urban. A rigid frame selection that fits mostly paved roads and a slim design to the frame, where the battery is hidden carefully inside.

The MV Agusta AMO sprockets gearset by Shimano HG11-speed. Aerospace grade aluminum alloy helps keep this e-bike light at only 15.5 kgs total weight. 250w hub mounted motor with 40Nm torque. 36V Panasonic batteries -250Wh total, using an inside frame battery pack that should last a range of 75km. Every details on the MV Agusta E-bike was thought of, with Magura MT4 front and hydraulic disc rear, tires by Pirelli Cycle-e DTs, saddle by Fizik Vento Argo R3, a Gates Carbon Drive CDX Single Speed Belt drive (Gates’ Carbon drive belts are in use by Zero motorcycle) so that every where you look at this e-bike, the investment of thought in engineering shows.

We are highly anticipating further news from the company, as they continue to build into the electric 2-wheel space. There are many fans for the brand worldwide, and with the company’s restructure plans there will surely be more news to follow.
