Lightning Motorcycles produce sport bikes at the top levels of speed and power, check out the Strike Carbon Edition specs.
The Lightning Strike Carbon Edition was presented back in 2019, March. It showed great engineering from Lightning Motorcycles, as they continue too push boundaries and get the best quality of motorcycles to market. The Strike Carbon is on pre-orders with a $10,000 deposit, and a grand total of $19,998. It has battery size variations, which can make it a bit cheaper if you prefer to have a lighter pack.
While there will be a $12,998 variation for the Strike motorcycle (for a standard edition) these standard editions are not available on the website yet, and only the Carbon Edition is currently offered. A 10 kWh pack gets 70 – 100 miles highway/city range. The 15 kWh is at 105 -150 miles. And last but leading the way, is the 20 kWh with 150 – 200 miles highway/city range.
The Strike Carbon is a real sport bike, that shows just how close we are to eliminating gaps from ICE motorcycles and Electric ones. Consider the phenomenal specification it has: 150 mph top speed (240 km/h), 20kWh battery, powering a 90kW, 120HP @15,000 RPM. Also take into account that your 252Nm of torque are available right as you squeeze the throttle. That pushes this bike from 0-60 mph in, get this, 2.2 seconds.
Now, before you even start talking range, or anxiety, read on. Because this bike fast-charges in 35 minutes, using a level 2 charger – in 6 hours, or using a standard plug – overnight. Take a range of 200 miles in the city, 140 miles on the highway at lower speeds of 55 mph, or a speedy highway ride of 70mph still averaging 100 miles. That puts the combined range at about 152 miles. When was the last time you took a 150 miles ride, and didn’t have 35 minutes for a break to recharge (yourself, not the bike).
Lightning spare nothing in gearing up their motorcycles with the best of parts, as fit for speed machines. The Strike Carbon has a fully-adjustable 43mm Öhlins fork front suspension. A Fully-adjustable Öhlins TTX GP shock rear suspension. 2 x 320mm Brembo steel discs with four-piston front, and 1 x 245mm Brembo steel disc with twin-piston back. Thermal management system and a charge management systems with health states of each cell. Everything on the Lightning Strike is meticulously built to create a beastly sport machine.
