Honda Patent images that lately surfaced, expose their entry into electric motorcycles, with what appears to be an all electric design base on the CBR125R. The patent images show a sport inspired motorcycle that appears to share similar chassis to that of the CBR125R, only a fully electric one.

Electric Honda CB125R motorcycle patent

Recently we have been tracking more of the latest developments with such patent listings, which show the clear move of traditional ICE motorcycle manufacturers to producing their in house DC motors, and related parts. Be it Harley Davidson with their release of LiveWire, Royal Enfield that has an all electric motorcycle project for a while now, Kawasaki that is working on producing an all electric Ninja, and BMW patent listings that may be related to the Vision DS model. The list goes on, but those were just a few, and it comes as no surprise that a large veteran like Honda would follow. It appears that Honda are working on several models.

These images surfacing to the web were found on several sites that report Honda as also recently patenting a design for their electric model, that is hinting this model may be in late stages, if not final stages of production. Despite that Honda has not confirmed the model so far, and no name has surfaced yet.

Since there is no confirmation for the model so far, we would not dive into speculation on what horse power motor or kWh battery are to be expected of this model (though we could guesstimate that if we really want to…). It should be somewhere in the likes of their same CBR125R model, in terms of HP, range and torque.
