Celebrity Tattoo Artist Dr. Woo Reveals his Unique Design for Harley-Davidson’s Livewire, Turning Heads on the Road
LiveWire has partnered with bike builder Mikey Ojeda to customize a LiveWire ONE for tattoo artist Brian Woo, known as Dr. Woo, resulting in the creation of the “Silent Dancer.”
This is the first of a series of customized bikes featured in CURRENT, a LiveWire Design Co-Op housed in LA. The bike is accompanied by a moto-themed capsule inspired by vintage Japanese workwear, created by Woo and Ojeda.
During the project’s beginning stages, Ojeda and Dr. Woo aimed to highlight how LiveWire is paving new territory in the electric sector while exploring innovative and sustainable solutions that could influence future chassis designs.
Ojeda enlisted Suicide Machine Company to prototype new covers for the bike’s “fuel tank,” which they transformed using ampliTex, a sustainably derived flax fiber by Bcomp. “We’re making a cleaner vehicle and a pure tool for our environment and the future,” says Ojeda. As part of bringing Woo’s personality to the bike, artisans were required to bring small embellishments to life, with some being replaced with sterling silver.
LiveWire CURRENT aims to inspire creatives to push what’s expected of EV distributors and bring curiosity to first-time riders by spotlighting LA’s burgeoning community that has already made the organic link between owning a motorcycle and exploring unorthodox avenues of expression.
According to Woo, the LiveWire ONE offers a fitting canvas for him since he had already stepped into the world of EV with his Porsche Taycan. He finds that electric vehicles are not a step down from vehicles with motors and that combustion is powerful. “It’s cool to see a culture built around the bike and how it’s allowing people to visualize where it’s going,” he says.
The Harley-Davidson Livewire is a remarkable electric motorcycle that combines cutting-edge technology, impressive performance, and striking design. With its sleek body, customizable features, and intuitive interface, the Livewire offers a thrilling and eco-friendly ride for enthusiasts and beginners alike.
Whether you’re a fan of Harley-Davidson or a curious rider looking to explore the world of electric mobility, the Livewire is definitely worth considering. And with the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, we can expect more exciting developments from Harley-Davidson in the near future. So, stay tuned for more news on Livewire and get ready to ride the future.
