Hero MotoCorp’s new electric spinoff brand inaugurates its all-electric Vida V1, with deliveries now rolling out to customers in select cities

The electric motorcycle and scooter market experienced significant growth in 2022, particularly in the Asian market. While several Chinese motorcycle manufacturers introduced new and exciting models for the export market, India emerged as a rapidly growing microcosm of electrified two-wheelers. As a result, companies like Ola Electric and Ather Energy have seen substantial growth, with the former releasing numerous new variants and updates to its S1 scooter range, and the latter expanding its 450 electric scooter lineup.

Additionally, Hero MotoCorp, one of India’s largest motorcycle manufacturers, joined the electric party and inaugurated Vida, its all-electric spinoff brand. The company recently launched its first electric scooter, the Vida V1, and has begun delivering the new vehicle to customers in Bengaluru, Jaipur, and Delhi.

The Vida V1 is available in two variants, Plus and Pro, and is well-equipped to endure the daily rigors of in-city commuting. The Pro version outperforms the Plus version in terms of range and acceleration, thanks to its longer range and faster acceleration. The V1 Pro can go from zero to 25 miles per hour in just 3.2 seconds, while the Plus version takes 3.4 seconds to reach that speed. Moreover, the Pro version comes with a 3.94kWh battery pack, while the Plus version has a slightly smaller 3.44kWh unit. Both models can reach a top speed of 50 miles per hour and offer four riding modes: Eco, Ride, Sport, and Custom.

The Vida V1 is offered in various colors, depending on the trim level. The Plus version is available in Matte White, Matte Sports Red, and Gloss Black. The Pro version, on the other hand, is also available in these colors but comes with an option for a special Matte Abrax Orange. The V1 scooter’s starting price is Rs 1,33,703, or approximately $1,642 USD.

For those interested in the Vida V1, Hero MotoCorp has opened a new Experience Center in Delhi, providing curious customers with the opportunity to experience the electric scooter up close and personal. Hero MotoCorp’s foray into the electric two-wheeler market demonstrates the company’s dedication to producing high-quality electric vehicles that meet customers’ needs while also contributing to a cleaner and greener environment.
