Fuell’s CTO Erik Buell is a respected name in motorcycling, bringing his years of experience to electric motorcycles.

Fuell Fllow is an innovative design, with a magnesium Monocoque casing, powerful 48hp motor and mid sized battery, and practically all the extra features you can desire. From ABS and traction control, to blind side detection and collision warning. The Fllow is a beautiful piece of engineering, offering performance and style.

Fuell is a US name that may sound familiar, as it is co-founded by Erik Buell. Erik is a well known name in motorcycle racing who was chairman and CTO of the Buell Motorcycle Company founded back in ’83, the company was later bought by Harley-Davidson in ’93, and ceased its operation in 2009 after immersing the business into Harley, and with their desire to focus on the Harley brand. Fuell was founded when Erik met with Fred Vasseur (founder of ART Grand Prix and ASM) and François-Xavier Terny, as they explain on their website:

FUELL started with the unexpected encounter and Franco-American convergence between Erik Buell, Frédéric Vasseur, and François-Xavier Terny. The unifying idea: to create an urban mobility solution for cities, which is currently the best application of electric powertrains. The founders combined their experience and competences to invent a genuinely new experience entirely focused in the urban rider’s needs.

The Fllow will be starting at a price of $10,995 and it’s available for pre-orders. Even though Fuell is a US company, it states on the website that delivery is available internationally. And the warranty is 5 years with 24/7 hotline support.

The bike packs a 10kWh, 400V battery, powering a proprietary electric wheel hub motor. The motor is capable of 35kW output, or 48hp continuously. Fuell also has a 11kW motor for A1 (125cc) license class. Their 35kW motor should push the bike from 0 to 60 in just 2.7 seconds, and produce torque of 750Nm (!). Despite having a continuous speed of 55mph (88kmh), the Fllow will have up to 85mph (136kmh) of top speed on demand.

The Fllow will have a range of 150 miles (240km), and the charge time would take about 1.25 – 2.5 hr. This is when using either the 3.3kW charger or a 6.6kW charger for even faster charge, but on a standard plug the charge will take about 10 hours. The bike weighs in at just under 400 lbs (181kg) and will have a lot of additional features to offer the rider, for a rather moderate price.

Fllow comes with eTraction control, hands free lock, walk & reverse assist, blind side detection, collision warning front and back, and 50 liters of storage capacity. The Fuell folks also used great parts like inverted Ø 40 mm telescopic forks, single sided swingarm, adjustable preload rear shock, and hydraulic disc ABS and regenerative ABS rear.

The design is quite innovative, and in fact Fuell has both their motor technology patent pending, as well as their monocoque design and storage capacity. The style and design is clean and attractive, with simple but captivating look. The front headlight has a great sportive design, and the magnesium monocoque completes it to a great electric look.
